Troubleshooting GuideComputers don’t always work right and when they don’t work, it helps to have a systematic approach to fixing them. Use the following guide to resolve those issues quickly and with minimum frustration: 1. Start with the simplest, least costly possibilities. For example, if the system does not start up, turn it off and turn it back on. Make sure the power cord is plugged in all the way. 2. If there are messages on the screen, make note of exactly what they say. Even if you don’t understand the message, the information may be useful when you get help. Often the answer to the problem is right on the screen. 3. Give yourself a set amount of time to work on the problem(s) and then get help. You can often get help on line if you can wait a few hours. Calling technical support on the phone will often help, but it can take a long time. If you don’t feel you are making progress quickly enough, hang up and call back so you can work with someone else who may resolve the issue more quickly. |
